Term 4 Week 8

It is hard to believe that the year has come to an end. Life takes us all on such a fast journey, confronting us with never-ending changes, so it is a great blessing to take time out to remember that the most important things of life do not change.

Today we did exactly that, hearing once more the sacred story of God’s love coming down to the world in the Christ Child. God’s love for all people is steadfast. It never changes.  We were also assured by Santa and others, that the love and compassion that prompt us to rush around each year when we’re tired and stressed, buying gifts, and food, and cooking for our friends and families, is our way of passing on God’s unchanging love at Christmas.

Of course, hundreds of people, including many who belong to Christian and other caring communities, work hard each year to make Christmas a happy time for those who would otherwise have a sad and lonely day. So, thank you, once again, for all the gifts and food you have sent to school for the St Mark’s Christmas Food and Gift Appeal. Because of your compassion and generosity, hundreds of families will be blessed this year.

If you think about it, Christmas is all about love, actually!

I pray that you and your loved ones will be truly blessed this Christmas, and enjoy a refreshing holiday – until it all begins again.
