Head of College

Dear Members of the Canterbury College Family

One of the highlights in my time as Head of College has been watching with delight the soaring achievements of our students. Whether academically or in sporting, cultural or other pursuits, they do themselves, their families and the whole College community proud.

This week I would like to share with you news of three Canterbury College superstars.

Year 10 student Felila Kia has been invited to be part of the Emerging Rugby 7s Program and the Rugby AU Academy – QLD for 2019. This squad is for identified emerging rugby 7s players in the state with a focus on players with the potential to become an Australian Youth Girls and Women’s Sevens Representative.

Year 11 student Jarrod Lord has been competing this week at the National Rowing Championships in Sydney. As a 17 year old competing against older rowers, Jarrod has been holding his own and making it through to the finals in his categories.

And lastly, Class of 2018's Alysia Lefau-Fakaosilea continues her fabulous rugby career post-Canterbury. She has just returned from a tour of France with the Australian Women's Rugby 7s and will join the Queensland Super W team for their game this Sunday at Ballymore against the Brumbies.

Three examples of the talented, hardworking students we have at Canterbury, and I offer our congratulations on behalf of the College community.

Thank you for working in partnership with us.
