Term 3 Week 6

Kindy – Year 2 Athletics Carnival
It was great to see so many parents and spectators last Wednesday at the Kindy – Year 2 Interhouse Athletics Day. The morning was certainly busy with students involved in sprint races, agility courses, novelty events, high jump, long jump and shot put. The carnival is based around participation and doing one’s best and this was certainly evident as all students were involved and supporting one another. Perhaps a highlight of the day was the Parent and Student race, where the parents once again took out the title for this event. It was great to see all those involved with a big smile on their face.

Congratulations must be extended to Ramsey House for being the winning house on the day. A big thank you must also go to all teaching staff and teaching assistants in Kindy, Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 as well as the Year 6 Leaders for their help and support on the day. Another big thank you must go to the Facilities Staff and IT Staff for their help in setting up and packing down equipment.

Pacific District Cricket Success
Congratulations must go to Taylor Goodwin (Year 6) and Henry Walker (Year 5) on being selected in the Under 12 Years Boys Pacific District Cricket Team. Both students are extremely talented cricket players and will compete at the South Coast Trials next week. We wish Taylor and Henry all the best at these trials.

South Coast Netball Success
On the weekend, Juliana Tamala (Year 6) represented South Coast Region at the State Titles for Netball held in Toowoomba. Juliana, along with the South Coast Team did extremely well achieving second place at this event. Well done Juliana.

State Titles - Track and Field
Last week at State Titles for Track and Field, Taylor Goodwin represented the South Coast region in the 800m and 1500m events. Taylor did exceptionally well placing fourth in the 800m and fifth in the 1500m. What is even more impressive is that Taylor, in both events, achieved new personal bests. Congratulations Taylor.

Extracurricular Activities – Pick Up Times for Students
It is great to see so many students from Prep – Year 6 involved in extracurricular activities after school. Just a reminder that for activities that finish at 4:30pm, students who have not been picked up by 4:35pm will be taken to OSHC.

For students who have activities that finish at 5pm, students who have not been picked up by 5:10pm will be taken to OSHC.
