Gordon Mathieson Cup Football
Canterbury’s Firsts Football team played against Cannon Hill Anglican College in a battle for the Gordon Mathieson Cup, named after Mr Gordon Mathieson who has given great service to both schools. Canterbury were slow out of the blocks and went a goal down in the first half, but equalised before the break. Once we got into a rhythm, the Canterbury team started to dominate the game and score three more unanswered goals to win 4-1.

Uhlsport and ISSA Cup Football

This term, Canterbury’s Open Boys and Girls Football teams have competed in the Uhlsport Cup, whilst the Under 14 Boys and Girls teams have competed in the ISSA Cup. These competitions include the best teams from Independent Schools in South East Queensland. All Canterbury teams have performed admirably and finished in the top 2 places in their pool. Both our Boys and Girls Opens teams were undefeated this term in the Uhlsport Cup and the Under 14 ISSA Cup team lost only one match. The knockout stage of the competition will be held next term.
