Term 3 Week 2

TAS Trimester 3

The TAS Trimester 3 season began on Saturday 20 July, when Canterbury hosted Cannon Hill Anglican College. It was a hard-fought contest across the morning. There were 29 matches played, with both schools winning 13 with 3 drawn matches. This tough opening round should see the teams well prepared for the tough trimester of sport ahead.

On 27 July Canterbury host John Paul College in Round 2. We travel to Ormiston College for Round 3. Fixture and training details can be found on the College App or below.

QISSN and Vicki Wilson Netball

Canterbury competed at the QISSN netball competition in Bundaberg in the recent school holidays. This prestigious event draws teams from across the state annually. 64 teams travelled this year to Bundaberg to partake in the competition. Our 2018 ranking of 24 was exceptional for our first year, however the girls (now familiar with the format) were determined to eclipse that result. The girls played outstanding netball, and with plenty of support from the stands, were crowned champions of the Candace Adams Cup after a determined and heart stopping Grand Final.

In the Vicki Wilson Competition, our Year 7-9 Canterbury Crusaders team qualified for the State Championships after winning all pool and final games at the recent regional championships.  Our Cannons team also competed and represented the College very well, only losing one match at the carnival. Although not progressing, the quality of netball played and the exceptional sportsmanship demonstrates the depth of our program. There will be further Vicki Wilson news in upcoming newsletters.
